Greetings from Mrs. Senftner! Welcome to the new school year. My job title has changed again this year and it finds me teaching Elementary Music, Sixth Grade Writing and Social Studies, and Elementary Computer Keyboarding. This has provided me with a chance to teach many different things to many different students at both the Onida and Blunt attendance centers.
I am proud to be a life long South Dakotan and have been teaching since 1987. I received my Bachelors' Degree from Northern State University in 1987 (Elementary Education with a Music/Coaching/Early Childhood minor) and earned my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from NSU in 2012. Go Wolves! My career has taken me to five amazing schools--Roscoe, Winner,Gregory, Timber Lake, and Agar-Blunt-Onida. I feel fortunate to have experience in a variety of grade levels and disciplines, and treasure the students and families I have worked with over the years.
My family consists of my husband Mark, a teacher/coach with the ABO Schools, and our son, Scott. Our oldest son, Tate died in 2013 at the age of 20. Our family loves our life as educators and fans of the Sully Buttes Chargers. We enjoy following the students we educate in their endeavors.
Our students at ABO are the reason many of us continue to do what do each day. If you are reading this as parent, thank you. We see amazing things each day from these students and your support and guidance at home makes this a great place to learn and work.
Life is good.....live it, love it, choose it.
